Bouchard won the award by a single point over Lakeland’s Craig Anderson, the NPHL’s only 50-goal scorer this season.
Bouchard led the Pirates in scoring (30-38-68) this season and helped his club to a first place finish in the East Division. He was also named to his fourth All-Star Team this season.
Bouchard also won the award in 2009-10, thus becoming the first Pirate to win the award since Glen White in 1984-85.

T.J. Short wins Rookie-of-the-Year Award

T.J. Short is the first Valleyview Jet in 13 years to win the NPHL Rookie-of-the-Year Award.
Short, the right winger who led the Jets in scoring this season (18-21-39), arrived to help the Jets make the playoffs.
The only other Jets to previously win the award were Brian Menzies in 1979-80 and Danny Woo in 1989-90.

Matts Maisonneuve wins Coach-of-the-Year Award

A near perfect season has garnered Falher Pirates coach Matts Maisonneuve NPHL Coach-of-the-Year honours.
The Pirates, who placed first in the East Division and first overall, were 22-0-1-1 and were only the second team in NPHL history to go the entire regular season undefeated in regulation time.
Maisonneuve is the fourth Pirates coach to win the award since 1995-96 when Vic Tardif was chosen. Ron Morin won in 1997-98 and Bob Maisonneuve in 2007-08.
Other Pirates coaches to win the award were Denis Desaulniers in 1979-80 and Dennis Morin in 1980-81.

Adam Loncan wins Most Gentlemanly Player Award

Dawson Creek defenceman Adam Loncan has won his first Most Gentlemanly Player Award.
Loncan (3-30-33 points) played 17 games and only received 14 minutes in penalties. He has seen his PIMs decrease from a high of 43 minutes in 2007-08.
Loncan becomes the third Canuck to win the award. Craig Young won consecutive awards in 2000-01 and 2001-02 while Curtis Cardinal tied for the award in 2002-03 with Valleyview’s Tracy Stewart.

Bretton Stewart wins Best Goaltender Award

Leading the NPHL in wins (15) and goals against average (3.18) has garnered Falher Pirates goaltender Bretton Stewart his first Best Goaltender Award.
Stewart, who began is NPHL career with Peace River in 2007-08, joined the Pirates in 2010-11 and has recorded a record of 25-5 since.
Stewart was also chosen to his first All-Star team this season.
Stewart becomes the first Pirate to win the award in 31 years. Gilbert Gour last won the award in 1980-81.

Donny Lloyd wins Best Defenceman Award

Donny Lloyd has won his first Best Defenceman Award and becomes the first Grande Prairie Athletics player in NPHL history to win the honour.
Lloyd was third in scoring on the team (23-15-38 points), only two points behind team leader Kelly McLeod.
Lloyd placed second in voting in 2007-08 when he played with Spirit River, his first year in the NPHL, to Kip Noble and was named to the All-Star Team. He repeated the same feat in 2008-09 and was selected to the West Division All-Star Team in 2009-10. Overall, Lloyd was selected to his fourth All-Star Team.

Pirates dominate East Division All-Star Team

Four Falher Pirates highlight the East Division All-Star Team as well as five first-time selections.
Goaltender Bretton Stewart is joined by Jason Bouchard at centre, Travis Chalifoux on defence and Pat Rowan on left wing. Lakeland’s Jay Anderson on right wing and Grimshaw’s Tim Clayton on defence complete the team. Stewart and Chalifoux were unanimous picks.
Only Bouchard is a previous All-Star, having been selected three times. He was an East Division All-Star in 2009-10 and 2010-11 and an NPHL Second All-Star Team in 2007-08.

Pair of A’s, Canucks, Rangers headline West Division Team

Two players from the Dawson Creek Canucks, Grande Prairie Athletics and Spirit River Rangers highlight the West Division All-Star Team.
Grande Prairie had two players named including goaltender David Larson and defencemen Donny Lloyd. They are joined by Dawson Creek defenceman Adam Loncan and Chris Stevens on left wing. Spirit River’s Colin Lefley joins the team at centre and Dustin Sather on right wing.
Larson is a second time All-Star having been chosen to the West Division All-Star Team in 2009-10.
